Job Description
Assignment
Under the responsibility of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will have the mission of ensuring leadership of the activities of ITPC West Africa, through the supervision of the strategic and operational effectiveness of programs, financial and personnel operations. This leader will understand current trends in ITPC West Africa's focus areas and have experience developing and implementing advocacy interventions, resource mobilization and development, and strategic partnerships. Experience in recruitment and staff management is essential and established relationships with civil society actors, technical and financial partners, and governments are an asset. Furthermore, the Executive Director must have clear communication skills and a spirit of decision-making.
Objectives of this function
- Work closely with the Chairman of the Board of Directors, the members of the Board of Directors and the various technical committees to evaluate and address issues that affect the organization.
- Oversee the organization’s daily operations, and provide clear direction for strategy development, program effectiveness, compliance and quality assurance of all interventions.
- Identify and meet staffing needs for effective operations, and maintain a strong work culture that attracts and retains staff while carrying out the organization's mission.
- Increase the organization's notoriety by being the main spokesperson and liaising with the various partners.
- Develop a realistic plan for resource mobilization and monthly cash flow management.
- Follow all national and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop work plans to achieve the goals and objectives in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
- Achieve ambitious annual objectives in resource mobilization, with the support of the Board of Directors, by obtaining financial support from technical and financial partners, foundations, the private sector and governments in the Africa region of the West and the Center.
- In liaison with the Board of Directors and the organization's staff, develop and implement a resource mobilization plan, based on annual objectives to be achieved.
- In collaboration with the Board of Directors and the organization's staff, supervise the development and production of external communication tools, ensuring visibility, including regular website updates, marketing materials, newsletters and social media.
- Take part in external events to increase the visibility and credibility of the organization, and develop strategic partnerships to strengthen the organization's partnerships with all stakeholders and partners.
- Build and lead an effective team dedicated to achieving the organization's mission through high-impact programs, community engagement, and strengthening partnerships with all stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a culture of collaboration and work, enabling teamwork to be strengthened, and the notion of individual and collective accountability within the organization.

- Good knowledge of the principles of leadership and management of organizations.
- Strong experience in public relations and resource mobilization.
- Proven success in working with a board of directors.

- Experience working with donors.
- Good knowledge of the West and Central Africa region, and health priorities of civil society organizations and their main challenges.
Qualification and Experience required
- Hold at least a University Diploma of Higher Studies (Master's level or higher), in Social Sciences, Management, Public Health, Community Health or equivalent;
- At least 10 years of experience, as a director or Senior Executive, preferably in a non-profit organization, in the Health or development sector;
- Demonstrate experience in organizational management (Programs – Finance – Human Resources).
