Archived PROJECT ASSISTANT
Job Description: Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the assistant will be responsible for developing and effectively implementing the project initiated by ITPC West Africa. The Program Assistant will be responsible for monitoring the implementation and execution of the ITPC West Africa “RELIC” project and providing technical assistance to the PMOs, in collaboration with the Monitoring/Evaluation and Management Officer. Research, and the Communications Officer.
Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Program Manager, he or she performs the following functions:
• Support the daily execution of project activities
• Supervise, and coordinate the work of the implementation communities
• Support the design and development of capacity-building activities for PMOs, as part of the transfer of planning and monitoring capacities to the level of structures
• Monitor the progress of various ongoing projects or initiatives, coordination meetings of technical working groups and committees Organize field visits and/or support the organization of seminars, consultation workshops, consultation and exchanges with PMOs.
• Participate in various meetings, regularly inform through minutes and reports and provide progress updates on activities (monthly, quarterly reports, and annual reports)
• Make regular monitoring visits to the field and, if necessary, jointly with other United Nations agencies interested or concerned
• Provide support in the preparation of monthly and annual reports
• Provide support in the development of calls for projects
Profile required
• Hold a higher degree (minimum bachelor's degree) in environment and climate change and management of community development projects or equivalent.
• Have experience in monitoring and evaluating projects
• Have experience in capacity building
• Have at least 5 years of experience working with communities
• Have experience in data analysis
• Have a mastery of the French language and a mastery of the English language
• Have good writing skills and have experience in preparing and organizing workshops and seminars
• Be available to travel, and work under pressure
• Have initiative, a sense of responsibility, teamwork
• Have a good command of the internet and IT tools
Abilities:
• Perfect command of French and good knowledge of English;
• Mastery of IT tools (Word, Excel) and information and communication technologies;
• Be able to make frequent trips to the field;
• Ability to work under the constraints of deadlines and results by demonstrating initiative, dynamism and pro-activity;
